We had a great day at Willingham Woods. We started by walking around the woods and looking at plants and insects. Here we are investigating plants we had found.

We had drawn a map in the classroom the day before, and used our map reading skills to recognise the key features we had drawn. Here we are at the pond. We saw ducks, moorhens and dragonflies (Mr Lewis tried to take a picture, but they would not stay still long enough!)

After a long walk we sat down for our lunch. This picture is taken before it started raining! When it rained, we put our coats on and sat under the trees. It only lasted half an hour, then we played. We had lots of fun in the muddy sand pits! Mr Lewis warned us that if we got in to trouble for having dirty clothes, it was not his fault! It was our choice! A bit later we played Miss Jackson’s game. We had to find animal cards that had been hidden in the trees and bushes; remember the animal name and then tell Mr Lewis how to spell it. We did very well, but 1J managed to find all 20 animals before us.
